When someone swaps assets on Wormhole Portal, the interface can now offer routes that settle through Chainflip. SwapKit sits between Portal and its swap partners (Chainflip, THORChain, Maya Protocol, and NEAR Intents) and picks whichever route quotes the best rate at that moment. If Chainflip is best, the swap runs through Chainflip.
For Portal users this happens automatically. There is nothing new to set up. The Portal interface stays the same, with more options under the hood.
This integration gives Portal users access to swaps at low cost through native settlement, all routed fast and securely through Chainflip's validator network.
How Wormhole's $77B in Cross-Chain Volume Now Reaches Chainflip
Wormhole is a heavyweight in cross-chain infrastructure. Portal is Wormhole's consumer-facing bridge, and Wormhole as a whole has moved over $77.4 billion in cumulative cross-chain volume across 30-plus chains.
SwapKit is the software that connects Portal to that broader liquidity network. It aggregates swap routes across 30-plus blockchains and 10,000-plus assets, and Chainflip is one of its four core liquidity partners alongside THORChain, Maya Protocol, and NEAR Intents.
For Chainflip, this integration opens an on-ramp from one of the largest bridge audiences in the industry. The $1.1M routed since July is a small share of Portal's total, but it is a real signal that the routing math is landing on Chainflip when the price is right.
One detail worth noting: essentially all of Portal's Chainflip-routed volume so far has come through DCA orders, where a user splits a larger position across time instead of executing a single instant swap. It is the same pattern Chainflip sees on the new TRON route: fewer, larger, more deliberate transfers. Portal is sending Chainflip traffic that behaves institutionally, not casually.
